Day 1 Madrid - AranjuezCheck-in at 10:30hrs at Madrid-Chamartin station (*) from where the Al Andalus Madrid Seville itinerary departs. Welcome drink on board, meet the crew and be shown to your suite. Lunch on-board Al Andalus while heading to Aranjuez, a Royal site of the Spanish Crown since the 16th Century. Visit to the city with its magnificent Royal Palace and extensive gardens. Later, visit the the historic wine cellars of Carlos III. Dinner and overnight in Aranjuez. (*) Renfe reserves the right to change the check-in location, passengers will be informed in good time. Day 2 Aranjuez – Torrijos – Toledo - MonfragüeAl Andalus will take us to Torrijos, from where the Al Andalus private bus will take you to Toledo, the Visigoths’ ancient capital which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. This Imperial City had Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures living together in peace for centuries. After lunch, you have free time in Toledo. The train travels during dinner to Monfragüe, for an overnight stop. Day 3 Monfragüe - CáceresAfter breakfast, spend the morning visiting Monfragüe National Park, crossed by the Tagus and Tiétar rivers. More than 200 vertebrate species are present in the Park. Lunch on Al Andalus followed by on-board entertainment. Dinner while heading to Cáceres for the night. Day 4 Cáceres-MéridaBreakfast on board followed by a visit to Cáceres, a monumental city of Roman origin with an intact historical centre (UNESCO World Heritage site). Lunch in Cáceres. Then to Mérida, for a visit to an Iberian pig farm. Dinner on board and night in Mérida.
Day 5 Monfragüe - Torrijos - Toledo - AranjuezAfter breakfast, a visit to Mérida, the Roman city of Emerita Augusta and another UNESCO World Heritage site; tours of the National Museum of Roman Art, the Amphitheatre and Theatre. Lunch on Al Andalus on the way to Zafra, an historical city with many links to its rich past. Dinner on-board, end-of-trip party and overnight in Zafra. Day 6 Zafra - SevilleBreakfast on board Tren Al Ándalus on the way to Seville. Tour of Seville with Spain’s largest historic centre. Sites include the Cathedral, the Giralda, the Real Alcazar and the Archivo de Indias. Return to the train for lunch before saying goodbye to fellow passengers and crew, aroudn 16:00hrs.
