Luxury Train Charter
Luxury Train Charter or Hire
The Luxury Train Club, in conjunction with partner Train Chartering, provides the private luxury train charter or hire in many countries world-wide. Before you consider a luxury train charter, please be aware that hire costs are high and will rarely be less than £35,000 / US$47,000 / EUR €40,000 and generally more.
How to organise a luxury train charter
You will need these basic details:
- How many passengers? Train Chartering can organise a train for any number between 1 - 700. In general, however, a luxury train with sleeping compartments or suites has a capacity of up to approx. 100, on average around 60.
- Where do you want to go? Using a route already followed by a luxury train minimises cost and operational issues.
- What type of off-train visits would you like?
- When do you want to go?
- How long do you want to hire the train for?
- What is the reason for the journey? This helps us understand your requirements better.
It would also be helpful if you considered:
- How are you getting to the departure station and from the arrival station?
There will of course be many other aspects of your tailored private train hire to discuss during the planning process.
Which Luxury Train Charters are possible?

Belmond Grand Hibernian Ireland
Now is Ireland’s time, a Celtic awakening in the modern era. What better way to imbibe the very essence of the Emerald Isle than by travelling on the Grand Hibernian?
Belmond Royal Scotsman Scotland
The majesty of the Scottish Highlands is the appropriate backdrop to the journeys by the Royal Scotsman; its unique and gracious carriages would be the envy of any private train owner of 100 years ago, whether royal, aristocratic or industrialist. Now with a fabulous Spa Car for those pampering needs.
Blue Train South Africa
The journey on the renowned Blue Train between Pretoria and Cape Town is trouble-free and luxurious, fitting naturally into your touring plans for South Africa. Go to the Luxury Safari Club for pre- and post-train ideas.
Deccan Odyssey India

Eastern and Oriental Express Singapore / Thailand
The Eastern and Oriental Express - superlative service, graciously offered, in the sumptuous surroundings of a luxury train from the same stable as the Venice Simplon-Orient Express; need I say more?
This is an evocative way of travelling around the beautiful landscapes of northern Spain, from Galicia to the shores of the Bay of Biscay, taking in the rich culture and cuisine of Asturias, Cantabria, the Basque Country, Castile and León.
Imperial Russia Russia
Travelling through Russia in a train that imparts some of the opulence of Imperial Russia creates a wonderful memory.
Majestic Train de Luxe Austria
The Austro-Hungarian Empire has vanished into the mists of time, leaving only fading memories, ornate architecture - and this lovingly re-created Imperial Train, The Majestic Train de Luxe.
The Northern Belle roams the English, Scottish and Welsh countryside, with all the fine dining and superb service one would expect from a train which shared the same 'stable' as the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.
Rovos - Pride of Africa Southern Africa
Rovos Rail has a style all its own with train tours that have a blend of earthy African safari and traditional luxury - except that a divine soak in a full-sized bath in a train was always rare, even on Royal trains!
Royal Canadian Pacific Canada
Queen Elizabeth II travelled in one of the Royal Canadian Pacific cars while still a princess, shortly after her marriage to the Duke of Edinburgh. This train is as regal as they come, and the dedicated service provided by the professional staff is entirely appropriate.
Seven Stars in Kyushu Japan
The carefully-crafted itineraries of Seven Stars in Kyushu allow travellers to enjoy the best of the on-board experience as well as being able to explore the scenery outside the train and meet local people. Seven Stars is about the living soul of the island of Kyushu Japan, with close connections to communities along the way.
Swiss Classic Train Switzerland
Tren Crucero Ecuador
Ecuador is a fascinating country. Crossing the Andes on Tren Crucero is a memorable adventure, immersed in the High Andean way of life and traversing the valley of volcanoes; an amazing experience, the highlight of a South American tour.
For this remarkable train, be prepared for a very high cost. The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express plies an original route of the legendary train; panache, allure, continental charm, a heady mix of pre-war glamour and style deliver one of the world's top train journeys.
