The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express has a special mission in November 2017. The world's most famous luxury train is departing London en route to Venice, via Paris - destination the 2017 Grand Ball.
This is the grand finale to the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express 2017 season.
Depart from London or Paris, with one night on board, and travel to Venice.
Enjoy two indulgent nights at Belmond Hotel Cipriani and a decadent Grand Ball; a chance to be a Venetian courtier and dance the night away.

2 November 2017 Venice Simplon-Orient-Express departs London or Paris to Venice. One night on board, including fine dining;
3 November 2017 Arrive in Venice and two-night stay at Belmond Hotel Cipriani, including breakfast;
4 November 2017 Day at leisure in Venice. Costumes and fittings for the masquerade, aperitifs at Belmond Hotel Cipriani, entrance to Grand Ball Venice 2017 taking place at the Palazzi Contarini degli Scrigni e Corfù on the Grand Canal, including drinks, dinner and entertainment.
5 November 2017 End of provided services after breakfast at the Hotel Cipriani.
The Club can arrange transfers, additional nights, tour extensions and flights (to London only).
Itinerary, Grand Ball Venice Journey
DAY 1 - Evening on board, 2 November 2017
Departing from London: Board the sister train, Belmond British Pullman, at London Victoria Station. Enjoy a sparkling Bellini and brunch while passing through the Kent countryside. You are escorted across the Channel to Calais, where the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express awaits.
Departing from Paris: Board the Venice Simplon- Orient-Express train in Paris. Soon it will be time for dinner.
Fine Dining: gastronomic cuisine, prepared on board by Executive Chef Christian Bodiguel and his expert team; enticing cocktails in ‘3674’ Bar Car and relaxing entertainment from the resident pianist. A rare chance to dress up for a four-course dinner in one of the three art deco restaurant cars. Perhaps follow this by a nightcap. Retire to your private cabin, which is now a cosy bedroom, thanks to your steward.
DAY 2 - En route to Venice 3 November 2017
Great views, comfortable seating, private compartment, excellent service - and a big open window (plus air-conditioning).
Wake to views of towering mountains, vineyard-clad slopes and picturesque villages. The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express travels through the Swiss mountains and beside lakes. Continental breakfast is served in your cabin. Later, enjoy lunch and afternoon tea. Venetian masks will be delivered to you. The Venice Simplon-Orient- Express makes its way across the Venetian lagoon to Santa Lucia Station.
Board the private launch to Belmond Hotel Cipriani on Giudecca Island. At check-in, you will be given the agenda of the Grand Ball and details of the costume service and gowns (included).

DAY 3 - Venice & The Grand Ball Venice 4 November 2017
Enjoy a morning at leisure. You will have your costume fitting during the day.
As evening descends, guests gather for cocktails at Belmond Hotel Cipriani before boarding a water taxi to the Palazzi Contarini degli Scrigni e Corfù. An intriguing ‘emotional cocktail reception’ and cutting- edge canapés are served by performing waiting staff. Sit down for a three-course dinner of Venetian specialities. Musicians and dancers entertain you.
After dinner, enjoy a display of Aerial Silk performers, before participating in a traditional minuetto. Dance the night away with a DJ, finally returning by water taxi to Belmond Hotel Cipriani.
DAY 4 - Arrivederci 5 November 2017
Your journey is over after breakfast.
