The Cadogan is a stylish retreat in the heart of London's Chelsea district.

The Cadogan has roots that stretch far into London’s past. Today, it continues to draw inspiration from the neighbourhood’s rich character.

Lillie Langtry (1853-1929) was a popular model and actress of the late 19th century and a leading light in London’s high society. She was the mistress of several aristocrats, notably the Prince of Wales, future King Edward VII. She sold her home at 21 Pont Street to the Cadogan Hotel and continued to visit her old bedroom subsequently; this is still the Lillie Langtry Suite. The Prince of Wales had a suite at the other end of the short corridor.

Oscar Wilde (1854-1900), Irish novelist, journalist, playwright and poet, is among the best-known Victorian personalities. He is renowned as much for his 'bon mots' and love of extravagance and scandal as for his literary works. He wrote The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Importance of Being Earnest at 34 Tite Street. Wilde was arrested for 'gross indecency with other male persons', an offence in 19th century Britain, in The Cadogan's room 118.

Today, the Cadogan celebrates its past and heritage while offering modern, understated luxury.
