Eastern & Oriental Express
Experience a panoramic view of the mystical landscapes of Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Laos on the Eastern & Oriental Express. The Eastern & Oriental Express with elegant lounges and suites, panoramic windows, delicious cuisine and superb service - this Asia Combo with riverboat and mansion is an unique way to experience south-east Asia. Each journey begins with stewards in exquisite Thai uniforms welcoming you to the train, their hands pressed together in a gracious wai gesture.
Within the tours you can cross Malaysia; travel the Malay Peninsula, see the Moorish splendour of Kuala Lumpur station; visit Penang and Georgetown; feel the thick jungle crowding the train passing through southern Thailand; pass villages and hill top temples en-route to Kanchanaburi and the infamous Bridge over the River Kwai; wander Laos's Vientiane, with gilded Buddhist temples beside French colonial architecture; enjoy the vibrant city of Bangkok; amble around historic Singapore; experience of guided tours and lectures; ride elephants - and so much more.
The Eastern and Oriental Express offers guests four categories of elegant private cabins: Pullman Single, Pullman, State Cabin and Presidential Cabin. All suites are fully air-conditioned with en-suite shower and toilet.

Lounges and Dining Cars
The Dining Cars. Lunch and dinner are served in the restaurants whilst breakfast is served in your suite. Afternoon tea can be taken wherever you would like.
The Bar Car. Cocktails, aperitifs and liqueurs are available in the fully-stocked international bar on the Eastern & Oriental Express, accompanied every evening by music from the resident pianist as well as local entertainment.
The Observation Car. This car offers you a truly unobstructed view of the scenery around you, with an open observation deck. Its interior section is the perfect place to enjoy cocktails amidst a colonial 'veranda' ambiance with its teak wood flooring, panelled walls, rattan furniture and potted plants.
The cuisine served on board is an highlight of an Eastern & Oriental Express journey. French-born Yannis Martineau has served as the Executive Head Chef for 9 years. He draws inspiration from the region, taking traditional local recipes and infusing them with modern twists and European flourishes.

Outstanding food prepared by the executive chef is served buffet-style at lunchtime. In the evening, choose from a selection of tantalising regional and Western dishes.
