The Ghan travels between Adelaide and Darwin on one of the most fascinating great train journeys of the world over 3 days, 2 nights. Connections are available on the Indian Pacific and The Overland for guests travelling to or from Sydney and Melbourne. The Ghan is perfect for admiring spectacular Australian landscapes, from fertile country around Adelaide to the rusty hues of the Red Centre (named after the red soil and orange-red hues in the centre of Australia) and then onto the tropical splendour of the Top End. The Top End has been constantly occupied for more than 60,000 years. It has spectacular wetlands and Precambrian escarpments up to 1.6 billion years old. Wildlife includes fresh and sea-water crocodiles. Rock art here is amongst the oldest on Earth. The Ghan is the ultimate journey through the heart of the continent. |

The Ghan has three levels of service and accommodation - Platinum, Gold and Silver.
The Platinum Service is worthy of being considered luxury train travel like no other Australian train service.
Platinum cabins are roughly twice as large as standard Gold twin cabins.

Each Platinum cabin has a double bed, a spacious en suite bathroom and full room service; they have all the modern comforts in a classic style, with a distinctly Australian character.
Passengers are free to decide when to take breakfast, whether a full breakfast in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant or a lighter continental offering served in the privacy of their cabins.
The welcoming Desert Explorer Lounge has a friendly atmosphere for socialising with fellow travellers from around the world or for a quiet spot in which to read a good book.
For dinner, the Queen Adelaide restaurant provides exceptional hospitality and a uniquely Australian, freshly prepared menu, carefully matched with premium Australian wines. There are stewards and an extended menu for in-cabin service.
This 3-day, 2-night exclusive journey delivers both luxury rail travel and a whole new perspective on Australia, from one edge of the vast continent to the other.
