


The Deccan Odyssey is the air-conditioned Luxury Train that operates in the State of Maharashtra. Travel through time and trace the history of the kingdom of the Marathas - Maharashtra. The route covers the world heritage sites of Ajanta and Ellora, the handicraft village of Shilpa Gram, the Sula Winery at Nashik, the bustling cities of Mumbai and Pune, and much more. Savour the cuisines, worship at the shrines, or just relax and observe the natural beauty around you.

Maharashtra has, during five thousand years, seen various dynasties rule over the Deccan Plateau: Rashtrakutas, Vakatakas, Satvahanas, Shilaharas, Chalukyas, Yadavas, Marathas, Portuguese and British.
All these dynasties have left their mark in monuments, heritage sites, wadas, palaces, churches, temples, synagogues and mosques.
Maharashtra has many wild life sanctuaries, four National Parks, numerous religious sites, places of scenic beauty, scores of beaches, thousands of forts and a unique culture depicted in folk arts, colourful festivals, cuisine and handicraft.
The Deccan Odyssey provides a glimpse of all this in seven days, a display of Maharashtra, known as 'the Great State'.
The Deccan Odyssey has 21 carriages, of which 13 are passenger cars accommodating 8 passengers per carriage.
There are 11 carriages with 4 coupés per carriage and 2 Presidential Suite carriages with 2 coupés per carriages. The train has a total capacity of just 80 guests.
There are also 2 dining cars for single-sitting dining, the Spa Car, the Conference Car and the Bar Car.
Administration carriages include 2 generator / baggage cars, a staff carriage and a spare carriage.
The Deccan Odyssey has on-board facilities such as TV, central CD player, cell/mobile phones, foreign exchange facilities, etc.
